Changing the level/pointer of a course prior to grading (SFAREGS)
Some users outside of our office may update course levels in SFAREGS prior to grading. There are occasions in which an undergraduate student registers for a graduate course that automatically applies to the level that isn’t preferred. As long as the level exists as an option at the course level, the level/pointer can be updated.
If the level doesn’t exist as an option, Curriculum Management should review and update as appropriate.
If the course has been graded, our office must update the pointer. (See https://tulaneregistrar.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/REGISTRAR/pages/108953601)
If the course needs to be applied to two levels, our office must update the pointer after the grade is posted. (See https://tulaneregistrar.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/REGISTRAR/pages/108953601)
In SFAREGS, enter the term and student’s ID number. Go.
Next block to the Course Information block.
On the line of the course that needs to have the level changed, click in the Level field. Type in the correct level or select from the available values by clicking the search/lookup button (3 dots). Save 3 times.
ID numbers should never be released via ticket, phone, or email. Students can access their ID numbers via Gibson. Students needing ID numbers for transcript orders can enter their SSN or 9 0's in the ID number field.
