Posting advanced standing credit

Advanced standing credit is applied using a course worth a certain number of credits as identified by the academic department. Posting credit that is contingent on 1) Advanced Standing or 2) Grade Posted. Once the section exists, credit is entered in SHATCKN, which allows it to display on the transcript and populate on the degree audit.

Find the CRN in SSASECT (97 or 98).

  • TSSW usually creates the section, but if not available, create a new section.

  • Change reason: OE

Next block. Enter the Level and check the Primary Indicator box. Save.

If a term header in SHATCKN does not exist for the term in which you are trying to post credit, go to SHAINST for the term in question and add a space in the End of Term Academic Standing field and click SAVE. This will allow you to post credits in SHATCKN for the term.

This coursework is a result of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) established between SoPA and the National Guard Bureau Homeland Security Institute (HSI) in 2023 that will provide academic opportunities for service members of the National Guard who complete “The National Guard Bureau Homeland Security Institute Certificate of Completion” and such students shall receive nine (9) graduate level credits toward the MPS in Homeland Security Studies or the MPS in Emergency Management. MOU is on file in SoPA.
