2025-02-04 Ocelot training for Banner data validation
Sara Hartung
Validating that Ocelot is pulling back the correct data.
When a student types in a question asking an integrated question, they will get a default response asking them to log in and they will be presented with sign in (SSO) then will be routed back to the chatbot to give them the answer.
If a student chooses not to authenticate, you still want to give them good information, so you want to make sure the default answer is correct.
Advisors - pulls all advisor types.
Use variables in the intro text for links.
When using links use descriptive link text for accessibility
Establish and use a naming convention for text variables
Default response should answer the question when viewed as integrated or non-integrated (in case a student doesn’t want to authenticate)
Admin portal - text virtual assistant - ask question
Use testing spreadsheet to document the validation of each question asked.
Each tab broken out by office
Clarifying questions do not trigger the webhook capability
Default will show integrated or default response
Enter notes to indicate message that displays when no values are found, like if a student isn’t assigned an advisor.
Can go live without integration. Can also have some departments integrated and not integrated at launch. Would need to let them know to create a sandbox.
