Interpreting diploma information

Are majors displayed on diplomas?

• NTC students: Major is not displayed on diploma unless…

  • If the student earns departmental honors, the diploma will refer to the major or majors for the departmental honors... e.g. "Bachelor of Science with honors in Physics."

  • If the student has both departmental and Latin honors, the diploma will say "Bachelor of Science Magna Cum Laude with honors in Physics."

  • Use SHADEGR to verify Honors: Enter TUID and the degree sequence which corresponds to the degree in question. Select the ‘Honors’ tab

  • Note: The "departmental honors" section in SHADEGR's Honors tab is not used in NTC. They have special codes under institutional honors that show departmental honors.
