Troubleshooting courses missing from the degree audit
The most common reason for courses missing from the degree audit is an inaccuracy of the courses' pointers indicated in Banner. This article describes pointers, how to view them in Banner, and how to request a pointer change.
Troubleshooting techniques
Using Degree Works, identify the level of audit that’s missing the courses. Note that the audit’s level reads from the student’s curriculum level in SGASTDN, which can also be used for troubleshooting.
Click the Degree drop down and select the audit missing the course.

Identify the current pointers for the missing courses.
For courses currently in progress, review the pointer in the Level field in SFAREGS.

Determine if the pointers match the level of the audit.
If not, open a request to change pointers or double-point courses. For example, if your audit is at the G2 level and the course’s pointer is at the GR level, you’ll need to request to change the pointer from one level to the other or to point the course to two levels.

Grade pointers
ID numbers should never be released via ticket, phone, or email. Students can access their ID numbers via Gibson. Students needing ID numbers for transcript orders can enter their SSN or 9 0's in the ID number field.
