Responding to academic calendar feedback

I am disappointed that a particular day or holiday is missing.

Thank you for your comments. Tulane’s academic calendars are approved by the University’s Committee on Educational Policy, a subcommittee of the University Senate. In addition to providing a Mardi Gras break in spring 2025, the Calendar Committee intentionally included a short break equivalent to Fall Break later in the semester. The Committee deliberately avoided a Monday or Friday break to minimize the likelihood of a mass exodus of students traveling during that late point in the term. The Tuesday/Wednesday break was carefully chosen to provide students with a mental break from classes, while maintaining campus engagement and continuity during the term.
