Conferring degrees - dates

With the exception of Law graduates, degrees are conferred for graduates as follows:

Spring: Commencement Day

Summer: August 15

Fall: December 31

Law conferral dates

Spring Graduates

All Law School graduates have the commencement conferral date

Summer Graduates

July conferral day uses the commencement day (e.g., if commencement is May 21^st, then the conferral date is July 21^st) for the PREVIOUS* May conferral date; the following degrees follow this conferral date:

• JD

• SJD

• LLM

  • General

  • Admiralty

  • American

  • Energy & Environment

  • International & Comparative Law

August conferral consists of only:

• MJL (all programs)

Fall Graduates

January conferral day uses the commencement day (e.g., if commencement is May 21^st, then the conferral date is January 21^st) for the FUTURE* May conferral date; the following degrees follow this conferral date:

• JD

  • SJD

  • LLM

    • General

    • Admiralty

    • American

    • Energy & Environment

    • International & Comparative Law

December conferrals consist of only:

• MJL (all programs)
