Posting SoPA portfolio credit

Meeting description

The Registrar will develop a procedure to apply portfolio credit in alignment with SoPA’s needs.

SoPA will describe how credit is earned, the timeline of credit posting. The Registrar will list the data points needed to apply credit.

Undergrads

  1. advisor meets with student to indicate portfolio interest

  2. discuss process and connect them with Delila about class of interest and determine eligibility to register for 1000.

  3. Register for PAPL 1000. Can submit up to 3 portfolios for 3 credits each and PAPL is worth 3 credits (pay tuition for 1000 but not the other 9)

  4. Beyond this 9, they are not charged utitio but rather an assessment fee. Each class would have its own fee equivalent to the cost of one credit. Up to 24 total credits.

  5. PAPL teaches them how to develop portfolio. Portfolios are sent to faculty to review. Once approved, Delila asks Michahla to post credit.

 

Students will contact Delila at various points in the semester.

UG timeline - students must complete PAPL before portfolio

They have 6 months to submit portfolio. Faculty assessment takes 2-3 weeks.

Grad timeline - can’t take PAPL - they take a self-guided version non-credit

They have 6 months from completion of self-guided. Can only earn up to 6 credits of portfolio. assessed equivalent of cost of one credit.

Grad course numbers 6000, 6010 0 credit non graded but charged fee. Each 6000/6010 must be paired with an equivalent course unless NOT approved by faculty.

Undergrad courses are equivalent to the TU course (TU course number).
