The method used for certification differs by certifier and level.

The Major/Minor Certification tool is used by schools to verify that undergraduate major/minor requirements have been met. Major/minor certifiers are faculty.

Using the Major/Minor Certification tool to certify degree completion (faculty)

The Commencement tool is used by NTC to record preliminary, final, and partner degree certification checks of the NTC Core Curriculum and review major/minor certification. We also call this the “Degree Cert tool”.

Certification in SZADEGR is used by graduate directors or other school administrative staff to certify graduate students for graduation. NTC also uses SZADEGR to certify graduates once they have verified all undergraduate degree requirements have been met as well as indicating honors.

Students apply for graduation online via Gibson. Students not currently enrolled should submit a paper/PDF application.

The student’s curriculum, program and field of study in Banner must be the same as the curriculum on the online application for degree.
