On Friday of last week, I had so many thoughts buzzing around and decided to go back to my graph-ruled composition notebook to keep myself organized. I understand the merits of Trello and I wholeheartedly recommend it, but it’s just not the tool for me. And while I will continue to use my Outlook calendar to communicate availability, there’s something that happens in my brain to feel more in control of my time by writing it out.

Since that point, I have had the most productive and calm days I’ve had in quite some time. I want this for everyone!

  • Yesterday’s ServiceNow information session went so well. Removing the chat option from the Zoom ensured that we keep the conversation where it’s happening, which is synchronously, and not in multiple places. Keeps us all on track.

  • Still looking into Joanie’s Banner access issues. I unfortunately broke something, but it’s been restored. I currently have a request in to add the BAN_DEFAULT_C class to her. She previously had BAN_STUDENT_C, which should give her everything she needs, but it clearly didn’t, so I need to mix and match to find the right recipe. Joanie is a trusted Registrar partner, so I have no concerns with giving her more robust access.

  • Yesterday, for the first time, I successfully copied admissions data from a duplicate record to its keeper. I’m lucky that this first opportunity only required me to add one application, so it was the perfect first one.

  • Last week, Steph D sent me the 095 (duplicate/missing curricula) and 094a (capitalized names). I resolved the capitalized names and distributed the duplicate/missing curricula lists to the respective data stewards. I have learned that PH offers deferrals which causes duplicate curricula. I’m meeting with Sherri tomorrow to get to know her and understand their programs. I’ll meet with TSSW (Jimmy and Chelsea) on Friday.

  • I’ve spent more time than I usually have on following up on Banner access requests. I’m glad to have the time to do it. I have found that using the Banner Internal form gives us the best results. Colette and I are the only ones who should use this form, so this requires supervisors/users to contact me directly so that I can submit the Internal form. I honestly prefer it this way because I think this will reduce confusion on behalf of the requestors and IT.

Upcoming things I’m working on -

  • Whittling down the list of ServiceNow subcategories

  • Re-engaging with the new website project

  • Monitor progress on commencement issues
