This is an emerging procedure, with opportunities for development. We are currently using both SHATCMT and SOATEST to mark graduate milestones as complete in the audit. Most programs are using the Academic Events tab in SHATCMT (STVEVEN).
We are trending toward a preference for using SOATEST. Our preference for SOATEST is influenced by the structure provided in SOATEST for data entry. Because the degree audit uses SQL to update the audit to reflect completion, the values must be precise. (The custom SQL for SHATCMT and SOATEST are different.) So, limiting the free-form capabilities offered in SHATCMT creates more sustainable operations.

Each school has their own internal process.
The Med School is using SOATEST to indicate successful completion of STEP exams
SPHTM is using SOATEST to conditionally waive a course in the MPH program. Students who complete a Bachelors in Public Health from TU, they are waived from the MPH’s SPHL 6020 requirement. SPHL 6020 is a pre-requisite for many courses in the MPH program, and this utilization of a SOATEST value eliminates the need for pre-requisite override for advanced coursework.
