While it’s absolutely possible to create a new event from scratch in Localist, it’s easier to copy an existing event and modify the copy.

Depending on the event you’re creating, you may choose to copy a like event in another part of term or you might choose to copy a different event from the same part of term.

Select the event you want to copy

If you want to copy an event from another part of term, refine the list of Live events to display the part of term that has the event you want to copy.

Use the Tags field to search for the list of dates in a specific part of term.

 Tags naming convention

termcode_potcode - for example, PoT 1 in Spring 2024 is 202410_1

PoT codes are based on the codes available in the Part of Term and Web Registration Controls tab. If you’re not in Banner, you can also use the codes in parenthesis seen on the academic calendar. These codes are needed on each event for each list to render correctly.

If you know the title of the event, you can use the top field, Search Events, to find the event. Tip: You can find the event title from the academic calendar on our website.
