Overview

Enrollment Certificates/Enrollment Verifications are used by current and former students to:

  • Verify the dates of enrollment for past or current semesters.

  • Verify that a degree has been awarded, when the transcript or diploma cannot be released.

  • Provide documentation with their legal name and address in association with the Tulane University Seal and Signature of the Registrar.

titleMore about enrollment verifications

Current students may request an enrollment verification by visiting their Gibson Portal and using the link on the left hand side.

  • The document may be submitted to a healthcare organization, a potential landlord, a scholarship program, or another organization who may be wishing to confirm that the student is enrolled currently or upcoming.

  • This document is the “official” paperwork for students who are wishing to verify their current enrollment; we do not typically write certified letters for enrollment purposes only for current students.

  • Students may come to the office and ask to obtain this document in person.

Alumni may request an enrollment verification by contacting us at Diplomas@tulane.edu. See the instructions on “in-person” requests to generate an E-Cert for responding to an email request.

  • They may need to provide evidence that they were enrolled at a certain point in time, for personal or professional reasons.

  • We may also want to generate this document to accompany a certified letter, especially a ‘Completed Degree’ letter.

    • The E-Cert lists the degree(s) awarded and the date.

    • Some students may not be able to obtain a transcript stating this information due to a hold.

  • There is no charge for this service for the alumni.

    • You may print the document for an alumni in person, or email the document, possibly in addition to a certified letter. This document is not confidential unless the student’s record is marked as such.

Current students request an enrollment verification via Gibson. Former students/alumni may also have access request through National Student Clearinghouse. If the student walked in to request the enrollment verification, please see Providing an enrollment verification when requested in person.

If mailing, emboss the printed seal at the bottom of the page.

Deliver the verification as requested (email/mail). When sending by email, use the Registrar email account to do so.

Once the verification is printed or emailed, move it to the Processed Enroll Cert folder in Box and click the arrow to the next one. Then, Click the X in the top right corner to exit.

Note on Anticipated Graduation Date

If the current student needs to have the Anticipate Graduation Date on the enrollment verification changed, we can do that with constraints.

A student’s current Anticipated Graduation Date is viewed in SGASTDN in the Academic and Graduation Status tab in the Expected Graduate Date field.

This field can be updated to a date earlier than the current date listed. A date later than the currently listed date can not be used. The student’s academic advisor can request a change to an earlier date. To update, enter the earlier date and save.
