Faculty paid via Tulane HR payroll automatically feed into Banner, so no manual intervention in Banner is required. Affiliate instructors must be entered manually. The Registrar’s Office is a “stop” on the affiliate employee workflow via a ServiceNow task, which is a request to enable the Faculty tab. Denise Kidd receives these and updates within 1-2 business days. |
Other than the traditional instructor of a course, other instructor types include:
Teaching assistants
Department admins who need to enter grades
For adjuncts/new instructors, check SPAIDEN’s Biographical tab > More Information to make sure the individual is “work active” (WA). See also: Enabling the Staff tab in Gibson for affiliate employees
For TAs, verify the individual is an active student in a graduate program for the term they will be teaching.
