About Banner degree certification

Department representatives and NTC Advising certify students in Banner on SZADEGR. Faculty should use the Major/Minor Certification tool to certify undergraduate students.

On the first day of the final exam period, the Registrar’s Office will run the “roll to outcome” job which creates sought records in SHADEGR/SZADEGR. All data from SHAGAPP pushes to SHADEGR/SZADEGR, and once sought records are available, you can certify students.

Identify the record for certification

Enter the student’s ID. Click the lookup button on the Degree Sequence Field.

SHADGMQ opens and all degrees applied for will display. See below sequence 1, student has applied for one degree. Identify the correct degree sequence and double click (or click the “select” button) . Click the Go button to be taken to SZADEGR.

Students with multiple degrees and degree applications will have more than one record. See sample below, student has applied for 3 separate degrees simultaneously: 1=BSBSM_UG, 2=BSCER_UG and 3=BSMAC_GR. Remember certificates are processed as if they were standalone degrees.

Identify the correct degree sequence and double click (or click the “select” button), then click Go to go to SZADEGR.

Certify the degree
