Curricula priorities are managed in SFAREGS if registration exists. Prior to registration, curricula priorities are managed in SGASTDN. The process on either screen works the same.

  • If you attempt to update SFAREGS for a future term that’s not yet available, you will get the following error. This is the indicator that the change must be made in SGASTDN.

  • If you attempt to update SGASTDN for a term in which registration exists, you will get the following error. This is the indicator that the change must be made in SFAREGS.

Inactivating the highest number priority program

In the Curricula tab, select the program to be inactivated.

Click the Duplicate button. In the Activity field, type the word INACTIVE or double-click in the Activity field to reveal a menu and double-click INACTIVE. Save.

Only the current/active program(s) remain.

Inactivating the lowest number priority

Select the record with the next number priority. If you’re trying to inactivate a 10, select the 20 curriculum. We’re essentially “promoting” the 20 to the 10.

On the priority 20 program, click the Update button.

In the Priority field, change the 20 to 10. Save.

Close the loop if there are multiple programs remaining

Multiple programs should be sequential in increments of 10. If you have a 10, 20, and 30 and you inactivate the 20, you’ll be left with 10 and 30. To eliminate this missing sequence, click Update on the 30 and change the value in the Priority field to 20. Save.

Align the student type and classification to the new priority 10 program

After updating the priority, align the student type and classification to the new priority 10 program to support time ticketing and billing.

Student type

If the student is registered, change the student type in SFAREGS > Student Term tab. New Graduate have the G student type and Continuing Graduates are Y. You can click the lookup button on the Student Type field to see all values.

If the student is not registered, change the student type in SGASTDN.

Classification

You can view classification in SFAREGS/SGASTDN. If the classification doesn’t match the priority 10 program, update the classification in SGASADD. Graduate classifications are indicated by an attribute in SGASADD. For example, a student with a priority 10 program in a master’s degree program should have a classification attribute in SGASADD of RCGM Class of Graduate Masters.
