PhD students may need to have a master’s program added to their curricula record if they’d like to have the credential posted to their transcript or if they are abandoning their PhD program.

SGASTDN or SFAREGS?

If adding to a future term in which the student hasn’t yet registered, add the program in SGASTDN.

If adding to the current term or a term in which the student is registered, add the program in SFAREGS.

Adding the program

In the Curricula tab > Curriculum block, click Insert.

Click in the Catalog Term field and enter the appropriate catalog term.

In the Program field, enter the string.

Next block/section.

 See the Next block/section button

Enter the Field of Study and Department. Save.

Inactivate the PhD program

Previous block/section to the Curriculum block.

Click Update.

Click in the Priority field and change the value to 10. Save.

  • The PhD is likely the priority 10 program, so changing the MS (priority 20) to 10 inactivates the PhD program.
