Advanced standing credit is applied using a course worth a certain number of credits as identified by the academic department. Once the section exists, credit is entered in SHATCKN, which allows it to display on the transcript and populate on the degree audit.

Create the section

  • Schedule type: ICA

  • Tuition and Fee Waiver: checked

  • Voice Response and Self-Service Available: NOT checked

  • Grade mode: Z

  • Grade: CE

  • Credit Hours: Indicated in request

  • Attempted Hours: Match Credit Hours

Social Work (MSW) - SOWK 6670

  • Course number: SOWK 6670.

  • Enter the credit in the first semester of the program.

Identify the CRN or create a new section

Find the CRN in SSASECT (97 or 98).

  • TSSW usually creates the section, but if not available, create a new section.

    • Campus - Uptown

    • Part of Term - 1

    • Uncheck Voice Response and Self Service Available box

    • Check Tuition and Fee Waiver box

    • Make sure the grade mode field is empty or is Z

SHATCKN entry

In SHATCKN, enter the the CRN and Tab. Next block.

Enter following fields as follows:

  • Grade: CE

  • Grade mode: Z

  • Enter credits (12)

  • Attempted credits: 0

  • Change reason: OE

Next block. Enter the Level and check the Primary Indicator box. Save.
