Adding/Dropping Basics

...

  • Adding and dropping courses to an individual students' registration is done in SFAREGS

  • Students and TU administrative staff may be able to add and/or drop courses

    • Students may add and drop themselves as outlined on academic calendar

    • Banner access to add/drop students in SFAREGS varies dept to dept. Outside of the Registrar, most staff do not have access to process add/drops, though some do

  • Courses may be dropped with or without record, as requested by TU dept

    • With record = a ‘W' will appear on the students’ transcript for the course

    • Without record = no record of the course will appear on a transcript

  • Courses may be dropped with or without refund, as requested by TU dept

    • Refund amounts vary: 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%

    • Only 100% refunds include both tuition and fees

    • All other refund amounts are tuition only, fees are not refunded

  • The code entered into the Status column of SFAREGS communicates how a course is added or dropped

    • Example: If a student self-registered, the code relays that inforegistration status code is RW.

    • Example: If TU admin staff is dropping a students' course with record and without refund, the WD code is entered in Status field

      • Refer to the page of full instruction for the specific action you are processing, as instruction varies from dropping one course to dropping all courses for a resignation.
