Curricula priorities are

managed in SFAREGS if registration exists. Prior to registration, curricula priorities are managed in SGASTDN. The process on either screen works the same.

  • If you attempt to update SFAREGS for a future term that’s not yet available, you will get the following error. This is the indicator that the change must be made in SGASTDN.

Changing curricula priorities

In SFAREGS/SGASTDN, enter the term and ID in the key block. Start with the first effective term that needs to be updated. If needed, override with “OVR”. Go.

Review the current state to determine what needs to change

In the Curricula tab, review the current curricula priorities by using the right triangle to scroll through. We are only concerned about Current and Active curricula. In this example, we have two Current and Active curricula:

Correct the priorities

Take a screenshot or make note of the current priority 10 curriculum, which in this example is the MS. Note the Catalog Term Program, Level, Field of Study, Field of Study Catalog, and Department.

Update the Student Type

Once the curricula have been updated, be sure to align the Student Type and with the priority 10 program.

  • In SGASTDN, you’re looking for the Student Type field in the Learner tab.

  • In SFAREGS, you’re looking for the Student Type field in the Student Term tab.

Update the attributes

Also update the attributes in SGASADD to align with the priority 10 program. See also: Managing student attributes (SGASADD)
