(blue star) Opportunities for Improvement

Non-Tulane consortium students

  • Big issue 1: Students don’t register during the registration period

    • Mid-semester students will ask to be registered or even after the term has ended

  • Another problem comes from incomplete paperwork, but this is not as prevalent as mid-semester registrations

  • Most issues come from students taking band and ROTC courses

    • ROTC POC is Yolanda Wade

  • There are approximately 100 non-Tulane consortium students each semester

  • Jen receives a consortium registration report every Wednesday

Independent Study courses

  • Big issue 1: Schedulers don’t create the courses correctly in Banner

  • No identifiable trends (user, course, etc.) have emerged with incorrect courses

  • Big issue 2: RO is sent information to create courses

    • RO does not have capacity to create all of the courses needed, which number in the hundreds each semester

  • Big issue 3: Multiple students registered in the same section (with IS, each student has their own section/CRN)

(blue star) Action items

  •  Meet again to discuss strategies to engage ROTC and band to encourage more students to register during the registration window.
