1 Banner Security Task Force

Priorities:

• Identify all users with direct access to any screen. Create class or modify access as appropriate.

• Establish/modify fine grain access controls

  • Prevent most users from seeing full DOB and age.

  • Prevent most users from using override types other than capacity, department, repeat, and pre-req.

  • Control which users can change different holds.

  • Prevent most users from deleting holds.

  • Allow users assigned TUL_GRAD_TRACKING_GRSE to use LGY5 for entering dissertation titles.

• Identify classes with no users and decide if they should be deleted.

• Establish security groups based on role/job function and assign as appropriate.

• Determine if Banner security groups or classes can be used to control access to other tools.

• Identify objects in multiple classes. Determine if we can limit Q and M access to one class each.

• Identify needs for auditing user access and implement a review schedule.
