Testing EMS Prod to Banner Prod connection

 

Test #1: Change a room assignment in EMS, check to confirm change flowed to Banner

  1. Open EMS desktop Prod

  2. Choose a course to update

    1. A dummy course is a good option, when available. Example for Fall 24: RDAS 7940-03, CRN:60002

  3. Search for the course using the academic browser

    1. click academic browser icon

    2. select campus and term (Uptown and 202430 for dummy example)

    3. type “crn” into field search

    4. click on crn in field list

    5. click arrow to move crn to the filter summary column

    6. type crn into pop up window field (ex: 60002), click ok

    7. click “get data”

    8. double click on course

    9. click: tools > wizards > change rooms > next

    10. click search for rooms, then next

    11. course time and room should be highlighted, click next again (take note of number of bookings on this screen, will come up again in step n)

    12. click “select” all

    13. click next

    14. pick a room from the list, highlight it and click the right arrow(should be sorted by days available, make sure to pick something that is available for all course dates)

    15. click finish

  4. Go to SSASECT screen in Banner for the course you just edited

    1. click “meeting times and instructors” tab

    2. click “meeting location and credits” tab

    3. confirm the room listed is the one you just moved the class to in EMS
