Dates and Deadlines for Conferral: Template

All items in RED below should be updated for each term.

 

 

Good afternoon!

 

Below you will find the dates and deadlines for our upcoming TERM Conferral.

 

Additionally, attached you will also find the student instructions and the paper application for students who are not active in this term but are applying to graduate – please use the online application for all other students until the end of term when SZADEGR records are created. Included as well are the instructions for proofing and editing the commencement list.

 

The TERM diploma date will be DATE for all graduates.

             

  1. Applications for degree should be submitted online to the Registrar’s Office by DATE to facilitate necessary proofing and preparation of the record for conferral. This is a soft deadline and can be adjusted based on the needs of your department; however, these applications are used to estimate commencement numbers, and we need them to reflect as accurately as possible by the beginning of February.

  2. The program list will be generated on DATE. The final edits and additions to this list will be due to Melinda Viles, mviles@tulane.edu, in Marketing by April 15th, 2022, the “blue line date.” More dates regarding this process are in the attached document.

  3. A degree checkout list of potential graduates will be sent by email on DATE. Further instructions regarding this process will be shared at that time.

  4. Degree checkout list changes/corrections should be returned to me by DATE.

  5. Graduation applications will be accepted in the online portal through DATE. Any paper applications after this date will be accepted through the end of Certification Addenda for spring, provided the student submits the paper application to their advisor/coordinator and the late application is approved. SZADEGR records will be created on this date.

  6. The certified lists for the spring graduation will be accepted in the Registrar’s Office beginning on DATE.  Contact Meredith or Michael at classschedule@tulane.edu to set up your appointment time.

  7. Any addenda to the certified list will be accepted beginning DATE.  The last day to submit addenda is Friday, June 3rd, 2022. 

 

Please let the students know that they should receive their diplomas approximately 4-6 weeks after degree conferral, DATE. Electronic Diplomas also take 4-6 weeks to be generated, but are available as soon as the paper copy ships. Instructions for students to purchase and collect the electronic diploma are attached.
