Adding a certificate to a student's curriculum record

  • If the student is not currently enrolled in the term of change, updates to degree programs, majors, and minors are done in SGASTDN.

    • If you attempt to update SGASTDN for a term in which registration exists, you will get the following error. This is the indicator that the change must be made in SFAREGS.

  • If the student is enrolled in the term of change, updates occur in SFAREGS.

    • If you attempt to update SFAREGS for a future term that’s not yet available, you will get the following error. This is the indicator that the change must be made in SGASTDN.

Use the following instructions whether updated in SGASTDN or SFAREGS.

Enter the student ID and effective term. Check the View Current/Active Curricula checkbox. Go.

  • If needed, in SFAREGS, override holds by typing OVR in the holds field.

Adding the certificate

Select the Curricula tab. In the Curriculum block, click Insert.

Change the Catalog Term and/or priority if needed.

Enter the program string. Tab.

Next block to the Field of Study block.

In the Type field, enter MAJOR. Verify/update the value in the Catalog field.

Click into the Field of Study field and enter the certificate code. Tab to auto-fill the department. Save.
