Viewing Core Attributes on an undergraduate course in CIM
Log in with your Tulane single sign-on credentials. If you do not have access, contact Sarah Montes (smontes@tulane.edu) or file a Registrar Support form.
Search for your course by entering the Course Subject Code and Course Number into the search field, e.g. “ENGL 1010.”
Once you find your course, scroll all the way down near the bottom of the form to a section titled “Undergraduate Core/School Requirements.”
There, you’ll see the core attributes affiliated with the course in question. See screenshot example below- this course satisfies the “Aesthetics and Creative Arts” core requirement.
Notes:
If a course is in the process of getting reviewed (either new or an edit), you’ll see details about where the course is in the workflow along the right side of the course details. Until a course’s attribute(s) has been reviewed by the Newcomb-Tulane College Curriculum Committee, the attribute is not approved/is not attached to the course. If a course is designated as Service Learning, the Center for Public Service and their faculty committee must also review and approve the service learning component of a course.
The Newcomb-Tulane College allows schools to add core attributes to Special Topics courses (also called Variable Title Courses in the CIM system) without review by the NTC Curriculum Committee. These attributes should be reviewed and approved by the dean or the dean’s designate of the school.
