Student Curriculum Changes, Applying to Graduate, and Degree Conferral
Summary
This will test the ability to make a change to a student’s curriculum, apply for a degree in the new curriculum, and award the degree.

Test steps
Prior to testing, select a currently registered test student with only one program and one major (for ease of testing)
Note student’s TUID, program, and major in the testing workbook
Log into Banner test (https://bannertest.tulane.edu) as a Registrar’s Office staff member
Navigate to SFAREGS
Input term
Input the student’s TUID
Click Go
Navigate to the Curricula tab
In the Curriculum block, click Duplicate
Next block to Field of Study. Click Insert.
Enter MAJOR as in the Type field. Enter the next priority sequence in the Priority field.
For the catalog year, enter the same value as the Priority 10 major in the Catalog field.
Click into the field of study field and enter a Field of Study. Tab. Click OK if there any errors.
Save.
Note your changes in the testing workbook.
In the Curriculum block, click Apply to Graduate
Click Yes when prompted to continue
This will automatically take you to SHAGAPP
In SHAGAPP:
Navigate to the Application tab
Enter the current or upcoming term in Graduation Term
Enter the conferral date of the graduation term you entered. (Summer=8/15, Fall=12/31, Spring=Commencement)
Enter AG in Graduation Status
Navigate to the Diploma Information tab
Enter Diploma Name
Enter Diploma Mailing Address
Note diploma name and address in testing workbook
Click Save
Navigate to the Application tab
Click Create/Update Degree Record
Click Yes when prompted to continue
Navigate to SZADEGR
Input the student’s TUID
Select the correct Degree Sequence
Click Go
Navigate to the Learner Outcome tab
Confirm curriculum information reflects changes made above
Change Graduation Status to CG
Navigate to the Honors tab
Click next block (down arrow in lower left side of screen) to enter the Institutional Honors block
Enter a Latin honors code
Note honor in the testing workbook
Click Save
Log into Gibson test (https://gibson.test.tulane.edu) as a Registrar’s Office staff member
Navigate to the Staff tab
Under Services, click Major/Minor Certification
Select student’s Degree Term and Major
Click Search
Confirm that the student appears in the search and note in testing workbook
Log into Gibson test (https://gibson.test.tulane.edu) as a Registrar’s Office staff member
Navigate to the Staff tab
Under Services, click Commencement
Click Edit Lists
Click Certified
Enter the student’s Degree Term
Enter the student’s TUID in the Banner ID field
Click Search
Confirm that the student appears in the search and note in testing workbook
Log into Banner test (https://bannertest.tulane.edu) as a Registrar’s Office staff member
Navigate to SHADEGR
Input the student’s TUID
Select the correct Degree Sequence
Click Go
Navigate to the Curricula tab
Confirm curriculum information reflects changes made above
Navigate to the Honors tab
Confirm honors information reflects changes made above
Navigate to the Learner Outcome tab
Change Outcome Status from SO to AW
Click Save
Navigate to SHADIPL
Input the student’s TUID
Select the correct Degree Sequence
Click Go
Compare Diploma Name to name entered above
Note pass/fail in the testing workbook
Click Update Address
Compare Diploma Address to address entered above
Note pass/fail in the testing workbook
Navigate to SHARQTC
Print an official transcript
Confirm curriculum change
Confirm degree awarded
Confirm Latin honors
Note pass/fail in the testing workbook
ID numbers should never be released via ticket, phone, or email. Students can access their ID numbers via Gibson. Students needing ID numbers for transcript orders can enter their SSN or 9 0's in the ID number field.
