Governance of STVATTS values

Types of attributes:

All attributes require a 4 character code

• rate code STVRATE

• student attribute STVATTS (SGASADD)

• course attribute STVATTR - governed by CIM workflow

STVATTS - student attribute

1. Department requests new student attribute

   1. Submit via incident

   2. Identify the role/user who will be maintaining the attribute

   3. Justification/rationale

2. Is the attribute used for billing or for reporting?

   1. Billing attributes start with B

   2. Reporting attributes start with R

      1. If billing attribute, review with Mike Pilman to make sure arrangements have already been discussed

3. Training to use SGASADD

4. Connect with BIA to facilitate reporting for data entry quality assurance

5. Steph D would approve for Registrar

6. Create the code in STVATTS

Other considerations

• Many of these start at the admission level, so we need to think about how we track/archive.

• Could we use CIM for this?

Requests for new STVRATE codes has reduced over time. EMBA requests a new code every year to accurately bill students.
