Nursing, BSN Second Bachelor’s Degree students and the "NRS2" student attribute
Students in the nursing program who have already earned a bachelor’s degree will need to have the “NRS2” Nursing 2nd Bachelors student attribute added to their record in the Banner screen for “Additional Student Information” - SGASADD.
This attribute will ensure that the degree audit is updated to reflect the curricular adjustments made for students pursuing nursing as a second bachelor’s degree, particularly the reduction of SoPA core requirements.
We recommend completing this task once the student is deposited and activated for their first term of attendance.
How to add the Nursing 2nd Bachelors attribute to a student’s record:
Once in SGASADD, enter the student ID and the first term of attendance. Click Go.
Click the down arrow at the base of the form to toggle to the “Student Attribute” section.
Click Insert
Enter NRS2
Click Save. Note, you will see Warning Alert about the possible impact of Registration Fee Assessments. Click OK. There are no fee implications associated with this student attribute.
Once the student’s record is updated in SGASADD, you will be able to process a new degree audit and see the updated core requirements based on the curriculum outlined for Second Bachelor’s Degree nursing students in the catalog. See https://catalog.tulane.edu/medicine/program-of-nursing/#degreerequirementstext for additional details.
