Certifying credentials in Banner (SZADEGR)
About Banner degree certification
Department representatives and NTC Advising certify students in Banner on SZADEGR. Faculty should use the Major/Minor Certification tool to certify majors and minors for undergraduate students.
On the first day of the final exam period, the Registrar’s Office will run the “roll to outcome” job which creates sought records in SHADEGR/SZADEGR. All data from SHAGAPP pushes to SHADEGR/SZADEGR, and once sought records are available, you can certify students.
Identify the record for certification
Enter the student’s ID. Click the lookup button on the Degree Sequence Field.
SHADGMQ opens and all degrees applied for will display.
Students with multiple degrees and degree applications will have more than one record.
Remember certificates are processed as if they were standalone degrees.
Identify the correct degree sequence and double click (or click on the Sequence Number and then click the “Select” button) to go to SZADEGR.
If there are multiple sequences, be sure to select only the sequence you are certifying.
Once back on SZADEGR, click Go.
