Batch applying/updating student holds - REG_APPLY_HOLD_C

This process allows the Registrar’s Office to update SOAHOLD for a batch of students at one time. The process allows for applying new holds to student records, or for modifying existing holds. To run this process you will need to know the two-letter code for the hold you wish to apply/modify. You can look up the hold codes in STVHLDD.

Prepare Student List

  • Create csv file with the following format:

    • STUDENT ID

    • Include header record

  • Upload the csv file into Banner

    • Banner form:  GUAUPLP

    • Process name:  Apply Hold to Students batch

APPWORX Request

  • REG_APPLY_HOLD_C

Parameters:

  • Hold Code - required

    • Two-character hold code to be applied or modified

  • From Date - optional

    • Format = (MM/DD/YYYY)

    • Start date for the hold

    • Leave blank if modifying the end date on an existing hold

  • To Date – optional

    • Format = (MM/DD/YYYY)

    • End date for the hold

    • Enter 12/31/2999 if hold is open-ended

    • Leave blank if modifying the start date on an existing hold

  • Reason - optional

    • Use this field if you’d like to make a comment about the hold

    • There is a 30 character limit

  • Run Mode - required

    • Run in Audit (A) mode to check output

      • Text output can be put into Excel

      • Compare total to number of students on input file

    • Run in Update (U) mode to update student records

Verify

  • Check to ensure students’ records have been updated in SOAHOLD
