Resignations are referred to by various names, depending on the department and/or situation. For Registrar purposes, we use “resignation” to describe when a student is dropping all courses within a term, down to 0 credit hours. This may be with or without record, depending on the time of year according to the academic calendar or the student’s situation. The Registrar pdf form uses the term “resignation”, whereas other departments may refer to it as a withdrawal from term, a full withdrawal, or a leave of absence. For clarity within this article, “resignation” will be used.
Think of it like this: one withdraws from a course, one resigns from the term.
A resignation does not mean a student will be unable to return to Tulane at a later date. It is simply a resignation from the term in question.
Study Abroad place holders (Course ID = REGR) are always dropped without record, as REGR placeholder courses are non-graded courses. They should not be dropped with record. If request from NTC notes to drop with record, do not process that way. Ensure it is processed without record instead.
