Commitments

Rosie and Tona will review the Banner Guide to determine which new articles should be developed and which should be enhanced (unclear, outdated, need screenshots, etc.). Honest feedback is appreciated.

Denise will develop a Registrar Tools Guide as a reference point for users to understand the systems we use, add link to ServiceNow for customers article to Banner Guide. Follow-up: A list of our tools will be available on our new website, which launches in November; see a draft. Updated Banner Guide to include link to ServiceNow guidance.

Play-by-play

Tona and Lane plan to schedule time with Denise to review curriculum coding for TSSW students.

Tona asked if there’s an easier way to update pointers. Denise informed that Registrar should do these because the screen where pointers are updated also allows for grade changes. To avoid any accidental grade changes, Registrar will do these.

Tona asked how to avoid entering pre-req overrides for Advanced Standing students. TSSW should decide who should make the request to have the AS credit posted. Admissions knows very early on, so maybe that team is the best fit. Requests for AS credit should be submitted via ticket and RSS usually handles these. Denise suggested that Tona connect with Sarah Montes to see if SOWK 6670 can be added as an “OR” prereq on affected courses.

Denise hopes to use a listserv to communicate with the TU Banner community to create a community of practice and also launch a mechanism to collect the tools users/Banner screens users actually use.
