Citizenship

Citizenship status is maintained in SPAIDEN.

Citizenship codes

D	Dual Citizenship-US Plus Other
N	Non-citizen
R	Permanent Resident
Y	US Citizen

Visa Type

Visa type is maintained in GOAINTL in the Visa tab.

To view all Visa types, click the button next to the Visa Type field.

Select the new visa type and save.

Nationality (Nation of Birth, Nation of Citizenship)

Nation of Birth and Nation of Citizenship are maintained in GOAINTL in the Nationality tab.

Nation of Birth and Nation of Citizen should already be in Banner for students on F1 and J1 VISAs. Verify and add if missing.

Program Duration (Program Begin and End Dates)

Program Begin and End Dates are maintained in GOASEVS in the common Data tab.

The begin date should be the first day of orientation and the end date should be the anticipated graduation date.

Sample Cases

1. Student is incorrectly coded in Banner with F1 visa type. OISS has the appropriate documentation to request an update to the correct visa type, which is H4.
