Unusual grading scales

Most schools will follow the 999999 template. However, we’ve seen unusual grading scales:

Expand
titleUniversity of Wisconsin - 001846

A, AB, B, BC, etc: use University of WI - 001846 as the default institution code

Expand
titleUniv of Washington 004854

1.9 and above is valid for Univ of Washington 004854

Sarah’s note: for the 0.0-4.0 grading scale example for SHATGRD, it is Univ of Washington 004854.

  • If you take a look at it and filter for UG level, you'll see that I input every single decimal from 0.0 to 4.0, counting anything 1.9 and above as legitimate for credit (per the U Wash transcript, 1.9-2.1 = C which is why the 1.9 was included rather than stopping at the more standard 2.0). I think a few UW campuses uses the same numeric scale, so it's good to have this code on hand to use in SHATGRD rather than the 999999

If you encounter an unusual grading scale, consult with the Registrar.
