Organize the data

  • Determine how many blocks you need.

  • Identify the preferred block names and descriptions.

  • Map courses to blocks.

  • Create a separate file for each block indicating the students in the block.

    • Files should contain only one column for ID.

GJRPSIM: Upload files for bulk processing

GJAJFLU

  • In the Job field, enter GJRPSIM.

  • Click Select File and browse and select your file from your computer/Box. Be sure to note the file name - we’ll need it soon.

  • Delete after days - 0.

  • Save.

  • Repeat for each file.

GJAPCTL

  • For process enter GJRPSIM and REGGJRPSIM for the Parameter Set. Go.

  • Next block to Parameter Values.

    • For the Selection ID, enter the Selection ID you created in the first step.

    • For the File path on JobSub server, enter the file name in the Values field. (filename.csv)

  • Next block to Submission.

  • Save.

  • Repeat for each file.

GJIREVO

  • Click the lookup button on the File Name field.

  • Process - GJRPSIM

  • Select the .lis file.

  • Close.

  • Repeat for each file.

GLAEXTR

  • Confirm the Application, Selection ID, and Creator ID. All IDs from the .csv will display.

  • Review ID numbers to confirm they’re all there.

  • Repeat for each file.

Set up the blocks

STVBLCK: Create blocks

  • Enter code and description. Save.

  • Repeat for all blocks.

SSABLCK: Assign courses to blocks

  • Enter term and block code. Go.

  • Enter the associated CRNs.

  • Save.

  • Repeat for each block.

SGPBLCK: Add block codes to students' records

  • Click Go and Next Section

Adding

Search Tab
  • Registration Term and Date Section:

    • Enter Registration Term in Registration Term Field

  • Search Criteria Section:

    • Enter Registration Term in Search Term Field

    • Enter Block Code

Update Tab
  • Block Processing Section:

    • Registration Status: Enter RSTS Code you want to use to register the student (ex. RE)

    • Select Mass Process Block

Select Error Checking Tab
  • Update Values depending on if you want to check them or not check them.

Select Results Tab
  • Select Select All

  • Select Submit

  • Save

Dropping

Search Tab
  • Registration Term and Date Section:

    • Enter Registration Term in Registration Term Field

  • Search Criteria Section:

    • Enter Registration Term in Search Term Field

    • Enter Block Code

Update Tab
  • Registration Course Drop Value Section:

    • Enter Drop Code in the Registration Status Field

    • Select Drop All CRNs

    • IF you entered DD in the Registration Status Field you MUST Select Remove Registration Record to ensure the RSTS code is updated to DD and deleted from SFAREGS

Select Error Checking Tab
  • Update Values depending on if you want to check them or not check them.

Select Results Tab
  • Select Select All

  • Select Submit

  • Save
